Casting and New Opportunities

While there will be some roles for our youngest YPTers in the production, we are excited to announce that we will be offering a class for our youngest, The Little Darlings!  Jayme Kelmigian will be creating magic with them forming a choral group which will perform during Intermission and around town prior to the show…  We are taking them on the road to
Briarwood and showing them off!  Costumes and lots of fun sure to come!

Scheduling Audition Appointments

We need the following info from you:
1.  Name
2.  Address
3.  Email address
4.  Age and current grade
5.  Phone number
6.  Time and date preference, if any.  Give 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices.

Audition Prep

Prepare a selection of music up to one minute long from the classical musical theater repertoire in the style of the show (no "Rent," "Wicked," "Aida" or pop-style pieces, please). Bring sheet music with any cuts clearly marked for the pianist.  Prepare one joke and come dressed to move!  Bring sheet music.  Auditions may involve cold readings from the script.  Complete and bring audition forms. 
Parents and kids - Read the show and rehearsal rules and the conflict policy.
Parents - Read the parent info sheet.
Complete and bring audition form with photo and scheduling conflicts calendar.

Bring with You to Audition/Four stapled stacks of the following documents:

Coming in with these documents in order and ready to go greatly increases our ability to be efficient with your time.
1.  Audition Form - Complete and bring 3 copies plus original (And a resume if you have one)
2.  Scheduling Conflicts Calendar* - Complete and bring 3 copies plus original.
3.  Photo - 4 copies...  can be a photocopy
4.  Staple these together in the upper left hand corner in this order:
        Top:  Audition Form (Resume may be inserted behind this page if you have one)
        Page #2:  Rehearsal Scheduling Conflicts Calendar
        Page #3:  Photo - Facing backward so that it is visible when the stack is flipped over.
 
*Note:  This Calendar does not reflect actual rehearsal times.  We will not be calling everyone to rehearsal for all those noted hours.  We are using this Calendar to see when the most cast members are available in the evenings/afternoons to schedule rehearsals within those those time blocks accordingly.

Audition Process

1.  Meet the Directors, tell your joke, sing your number - groups of 10 will proceed in half hour blocks
2.  Any Cold Readings - will take place in that group block
2.  Learn a dance number in your group - 1/2 hour block
3.  Perform dance number for Directors - 15 minute block
4.  You're done!  Approximately 1 1/2 hours!
