Willy Wonka!   Beginning Camp’s Exciting Musical
Roald Dahl's timeless story of the world famous candy man and his quest to find an heir comes to life in this stage adaptation of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, which features the songs from the classic family film "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory."  The memorable score features “The Candy Man”, “Pure Imagination”, “Oompa Loompa” and ”I Want it Now” by Academy® and Grammy® award winners Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley.
 
Rehearse and perform the musical, Willy Wonka! directed by Aral Basil Gribble II with musical direction by Marlene Inman-Reilly. Creative youngsters will delight in the story of the candy man!!  Students will learn the basics of theater, voice and movement through both classes and rehearsal.  The entire camp will proudly take stage with a fabulous performance for family and friends on the last day of camp.

School House Rock Live!
The Emmy® Award-winning Saturday morning educational cartoon series is now the basis for one of the most fun, energetic musicals ever to hit the stage! Schoolhouse Rock Live! will be a hit for actors and audiences alike!
 
School House Rock Live! directed by Lynn Lammers with musical direction by Marlene Inman-Reilly, will offer a unique theatrical opportunity: to create an electric, energetic show in a blackbox theatre.  YPT's blackbox space offers an intimacy that you won't find in larger theatres. This gives the actor a stronger sense of connection to the audience and teaches one's body and voice to adjust a performance when playing to a smaller house.  Every day of camp presents a new opportunity to build skills in acting, music and voice, movement, stagecraft, song interpretation, and improvisation.    The camp culminates in live theater performances of the production.

Acting Intensive
Acting Intensive, directed by Lynn Lammers, introduces the fundamentals of acting through scene work.  This includes cultivating our sense of play, understanding how to analyze a script and put it on its feet, and conditioning our instruments: the body, the voice, and the mind.  The actors will feature their week’s accomplishments in a series of ten minute plays that will be performed in a workshop showcase at the end of the camp week.

Audition Intensive:  Ready, Prep, Go….
Go after the role of your dreams next season with the confidence of this intense preparation.  Calling all serious actors for the opportunity of an extraordinary summer theatre experience with YPT favorite Directors, Aral Basil Gribble II and Marlene Inman-Reilly.  The students will learn to create lasting impressions in auditions and on the stage choosing and mastering their own personal audition songs and monologues.  Learn and master the intricacies of presenting oneself in auditions.  Camp will culminate in a simulated audition and workshop performance.
